The
capture of Saddam Hussein was only for a few Iraqis reason to
celebrate. Although most people were happy that the tyrant was
caught, the uncertain future of their country was more on their
minds. The slow pace of the rebuilding efforts, the long wait
at the gas stations and because of the inability of the Bush
administration to curb the violence, many Iraqis did express
their wish for the American troops to leave. Some even longed
for the old days when Saddam was in power. In the south and
the north part of the country the situation is almost normal,
but in the middle, the so-called 'Sunni Triangle', the war still
goes on. The resistance is fierce and the US military is trying
to get control by every means possible. Sometimes punishing
an entire community like Abu Hishma, a village 70 miles north
of Baghdad. Making the whole village prison by encircling it
with barbed wire and forgetting in the process that they came
to liberate the people.
