After 34 years, commercial, sonic aviation has come to a halt. On 24th October 2003 the last flight from New York to Heathrow took place. Plagued from the start with high cost to maintain and fly, the Concorde never became the success which was hoped for. Through the years the aircraft was immense popular, not only with her fans, but the public in general embraced the Concorde because of her grace and speed. This admiration was mostly from afar, only a happy few could afford the steep ticket price. But just to see her flying was a thrill. Now the fleet will be disperse to museum all over the world and for the first time in her history she will be accessible for everybody, but flying, she will no more.
