The 'Gates' was the latest art project from the couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude. On show in Central Park, New York City. More than a million visitors from all over the world did ( or did not ) enjoyed the colourful display in the normally less crowded park. Along 23 miles of walkways stood 7.500 gates with free-hanging orange-colored ( for the connoisseur the color was saffron ) fabric panels. As with Christo's past projects, 'The gates' was only temporary on display, for 16 days, which is the nice part of his art. It's gone before spring starts and the park shines in its own beauty, colourful ánd peaceful.
